All the fun stuff.
Monday, September 24th, 2007Finally got to my favorite part! Spent most of the weekend cleaning up all the geometry for the ship (with Kurt’s assistance) and setting up all the UV’s. Not too many additions have been made to the model besides some more divisions on the cockpit, and various minor things. The UV’s still have a little ways to go, and then once everything is situated there I’ll move back to the environment, setting up everything for 2.5D hopefully.

Ship Work
Wednesday, September 19th, 2007Kurt and I cleaned up the mesh considerably today. From there I was able to finish blocking out the general shape of the ship, and start doing some of the modeling details. Hopefully will finish the modeling for the ship tomorrow and start the UV’s. Once that’s done I’ll go back into environment mode and start setting up everything for matte painting/camera projection.
Still modeling

Sunday, September 16th, 2007While not nearly as pretty as Dave’s renders below, I’ve been reworking the alley to be an interesting space before I go crazy with little assets. I got rid of the physical sun and sky and made a rough lighting model to preview my scene with (these images also have ambient occlusion). Just about everything needs attention, most notably the doorway on the left and the stairs in the alley. So far we’re on schedule, but the more we finish modeling the more painful texturing becomes.
